James Krueger is one of the most decorated trial, personal injury and wrongful death lawyers in Hawaii. His areas of specialty include: Ocean, Boats and Pools, Insurance, Medical Neglect, Product Liability, Premises Liability and Transportation.

Jim has received national recognition from the US News and World Report as one of the best attorneys in Hawaii. Honolulu Magazine has named him year after year, since 2009, among the Best Lawyers of Hawaii in the personal injury field as has Woodward-White listed him every year as among the “Best Lawyers in America”. He is listed by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell world-wide lawyer listing as a member of its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and given Jim its “highest possible rating in legal ability & ethical standards.” This is comparable to Jim being named among the Superlawyers. Jim has been named the Hawaii Trial Lawyer of the Year; a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Committee on Trial Techniques, and was a member of its Federal Rules of Civil Procedure Litigation Section, Committee on Medicine and Law, and was National Vice-Chairman of its section on tort and insurance practice.

He is a Fellow in some of the most prestigious recognized trial organizations in the world. These include The International Academy of Trial Lawyers, The International Society of Barristers, The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, The American College of Barristers, Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association, American College of Legal Medicine, The Verdict Club, Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (United Kingdom), The Litigation Counsel of America, and The American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. His membership in the American Board is a certification in medical negligence and he is a charter member in the Trial Masters (Life Member) and American Society of Hospital Attorneys.

Jim has been a leader in numerous of the organizations in which he belongs during his 40+ years of trial practice. He has been President of the Hawaii Academy of Plaintiffs’ Attorneys which he helped co-found; and President, Western Trial Lawyers Association (which he helped co-found) and lifetime member of its Board of Governors as well as a former member of its Committees on Program Selection, and Speakers, and Jury Instructions. He also was a member of The National Board of Trial Advocacy (co-founder and instructor) and President of The Hawaii Institute for Continuing Legal Education (Bd. Drs.).

Not unsurprisingly, Jim has lectured for decades in the area of litigation as well as having had articles and book chapters published. In the area of appellate litigation, he has obtained decisions favoring or preserving the rights of persons wrongfully harmed or killed by the wrongful conduct of others in some 60 Hawaii cases.

Jim was born October 27, 1938, grew up in Beverly Hills, California, attended UCLA undergraduate and was graduated from the Loyola School of Law, Los Angeles in 1965.
